TORONTO - Aecon Group Inc. (TSX:ARE) said Monday it has been awarded a $31 million contract to build a veterinary complex for the Quebec government. The Toronto-based construction firm said its buildings division will be responsible for the more than 8,300-square-metre facility, which will be located in St. Hyacinthe, Que. The building will be used by the provincial Ministry of Agriculture to diagnose potentially diseased animals. Aecon said construction on the complex is scheduled to begin next month and is expected to be completed by the summer of 2011.
