Camex Partners with Customers for SuccessLocated in Nisku, Alberta, Camex Equipment is celebrating over a decade and a half of successful service in supplying western Canada and the international market with quality new, used and consigned equipment. Stocking one of the most extensive lines of oilfield and construction equipment available in Western Canada, Camex also manufactures high quality custom oilfield related equipment. Pat Wilson started Camex Equipment working out of the back of his pickup truck in 1992. With one other employee, Wilson originally focused on upgrading and refurbishing used oilfield equipment for resale and rental. Today, Camex has expanded to 3 locations in Nisku with an inventory of over 700 new, used and refurbished Oilfield Transportation and Construction equipment. With over 75 employees, a new facility consisting of 6,000 square feet of office space and 220,000 square feet of manufacturing space, Camex no longer operates out of the back of Wilson's pickup! Camex has continued to expand with a new shop, also located in Nisku. The additional shop will offer Camex an extra 6000 square feet of office space and 15,000 square foot welding and detail shop. The number one buyer of Kenworth Trucks and Scona Trailers in Western Canada, Camex exemplifies customer service and satisfaction. What catapulted Camex to such a rapid rise in such a short time? Wilson attributes the success of Camex Equipment in part to the strength of the oil patch, but also to strong marketing and maintaining a staff rich in experience. "We're a company built by people. We have a lot of long term employees here," says Wilson. When asked about his philosophy on how to retain good employees Wilson's answer is simple: "You treat people the way you would want to be treated yourself." Integrity in the conduct of personal business is a core value Pat emphasizes among his staff. Part of the Camex Philosophy is the belief that each person should seek to understand his or her innate gift in order to work with passion and a positive attitude. Camex maintains the same philosophy with its customers. The goal at Camex is to treat customers as partners. The expert staff at Camex knows how to provide the information, tools, and support customers need to ensure success. Wilson says, "We're sensitive to our customers' needs. At the end of the day, everyone wants to make a good living. I guess you could say we help our customers be successful." One Stop ShoppingFor customers in the oilfield and construction sectors, Camex provides a one stop shopping approach in supplying customers with all their equipment needs. Wilson explains, "We discuss with them what exactly they need for a job and we provide a complete package. No loose ends." Drawing on over 70 years of combined experience, the professionals at Camex Equipment offer customers quality service from the initial phases of the selection process to the completion of the project. The technicians at Camex work with clients and engineers to custom design and manufacture equipment that meets or exceeds the customer's requirements. E-business has created an environment that provides quick and efficient sourcing of products from vendors. Wilson has taken advantage of e-business by providing customers with direct access to Camex's inventory via its web site. Camex is located on the web at www.camex.com Rig-Up ManufacturingOne example of Camex's commitment to it "one stop shopping" philosophy is by providing customer design and complete manufacturing services. New or used equipment can be modified and rigged up to customer specifications and budget considerations. Winch tractors and picker units are examples of units that are available from Camex Rig-Up Division. Wilson Says, "There is an understanding at Camex that when a customer desires a unit, they usually want it pretty fast and it's our job to deliver that unit on time. We'll meet our customer's delivery date while never sacrificing quality work." A new rig-up shop staffed with expert technicians has Camex well prepared to maintain its already solid reputation in the industry. V.I.P. (Vacuum Industrial Products) LineResearching and perfecting the VIP (Vacuum Industrial Products) line has been an important focus of Camex. In order to meet the growing demands of stringent environmental regulations and industry standards, Camex has designed vacuum trucks and water trucks that help customers adhere to environmental regulations. Wilson says, "Our trucks are safe for the environment. Our trucks allow large quantities of fluids to be moved without contamination." The VIP line specializes in vacuum tank trucks and water trucks of differing capacities and functions meeting the market demands for capacities and functions. Meeting the market demands for water trucks, vacuum trucks, vacuum trailers and pressure units, Camex is striving to be the industry leader in service and product availability in North America. The Power of PartnershipThe philosophy of treating customers like partners rather then clients allows Camex and clients to succeed. A large bulk of Camex's clientele is repeat and referral customers. The oil-world is a small world. On the international side, there are key players and they all talk. Having a good reputation is vital, since so much information travels "word of mouth." If Camex's history is any indication of what we can expect to hear in the future, the words we're going to hear will be very good. The Future of Camex EquipmentCamex is committed to helping small or new companies prosper. "Many of our customers start out small but keep growing. They might have bought their first truck from us, and then they keep buying from us as they get more successful." Says Wilson. "They look to us for advice, but we've also learned from them. That's the way I say we treat our customers more like partners then clients." In the end, it all goes back to the simple, grass roots Camex Philosophy of business: Camex works hard to ensure the success of its customers. |
